What a year 2023 has been! As we wrap up the calendar year, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude for surviving this challenging year both physically and emotionally. This year, I was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer after a regrowth tumor. The months that followed were a rollercoaster as I navigated surgery, and countless doctor’s appointments.
Thankfully, after months of treatment and recovery, I am now in remission and cancer-free, a Designated Prostate Cancer survivor.
Looking back, I don’t know how I would have gotten through this ordeal without the love and support of my friends, colleagues and family. Each and every one of you played such an important role in my healing journey through your words of encouragement, home-cooked meals you dropped off, rides to treatments, airport pick ups and most importantly, your prayers. On my lowest days, it was your check-in calls and texts that lifted my spirits. Your presence gave me strength and hope during a very difficult period of uncertainty. I will forever be grateful for each and every one of you who stood by me.
While the recovery continues, I am filled with gratitude each day that I have been given a clean bill of health and more time with my loved ones. This experience has reminded me what truly matters most in life. I am grateful for every sunrise and chance to create new memories. I am grateful to be alive! As we close out this year and begin a new one, I am filled with hope and optimism for the future. Thank you all again for your support – it means the world to me and I couldn’t have done it without each of you. Here’s to a happy and healthy prosperous 2024!
